Every designer, regardless of their area of focus, is drawn towards what resonates with them. Inspiration can come from various sources, such as historical buildings, vintage art, organic fabrics, theatrical plays, music, or the vibrancy of a city. 

Personally, my inspiration stems from a desire to explore different cultures around the world. I strive to harmonize modern elements with timeless organic materials to create a tranquil yet invigorating atmosphere.

The psychology of color is intriguing, capable of evoking calm or infusing a space with mental, spiritual, or healing energies. Whether you're drawn to bold, bright colors or prefer subdued neutrals, your space should resonate with you. Wall art should evoke a sense of familiarity while surrounding textiles and fabrics should provide comfort. My ideal preference is a continued affection for neutral tones flirting with a kiss of color. 

Modern organic, layered textures like jute, linen, and anything woven.  Forged metals, travertine, marble, brass, and unlacquered wood. And of course, luxurious cashmere, chenille, silk, and velvet.

Lighting is a crucial element that serves as an accessory and should be leaned on when designing a space. While overhead lighting is essential, it doesn't have to be ordinary. Lighting can be expressive and should create a moody atmosphere. We all love table and floor lamps; however, I prefer pocket, soffit, and wall sconce lighting whenever possible.

Trends are an elusive wave that sweeps through our lives, prompting us to explore new ideas. This cyclical nature of trends explains why, over the decades, we often witness the reinvention of classic elements, giving them a fresh and improved aura. In the realm of design, it's beneficial to allow refined, timeless aesthetics to guide you. Trends, after all, should be treated as temporary guests in your space—present for a while before they depart, and refined, historical classics find a permanent place in our lives.
